Ernest
Holmes founded the International Religious Science
movement and wrote The Science of Mind and
numerous other books on metaphysics. He also founded the
international monthly periodical, Science of Mind
magazine, which has been in continuous monthly
publication since 1927 and has influenced millions of
people. His Science of Mind teaching, which has been
recognized by persons such as Jean Houston as one of the
leading viewpoints in modern metaphysics, is a spiritual
philosophy that people throughout the world have come to
know as a positive, supportive approach to life.
Ernest Holmes was a visionary in the
early part of the 20th century. In the midst of wars and
rumors of wars, he studied the ancient sacred teachings
of East and West and melded them into a spiritual belief
that helped fuel the current interest in all things
spiritual. His Science of Mind teaching emphasizes the
unlimited scope of the human mind and our underlying
oneness with each other and with our Creator.
As the founder of a philosophy, a faith,
and a way of life, and an internationally recognized
authority on all religions, Holmes culled the core
truths from many faiths and philosophers and revealed
them in a powerful and practical new way. His books
have changed many lives and are used in teaching centers
around the globe to heal and improve the quality of
living.
"We live and move and have our being in what we call an
Infinite Mind, an Infinite Creative Mind, also
infinitely receptive, operative, omnipotent and
all-knowing; and we have learned that this mind presses
against us on all sides, flows through us and becomes
operative through our thinking...and the word you speak
today is the law which shall govern your life tomorrow."
Ernest Holmes, Creative Mind
Creative Mind, newly published release, was made
possible by the generous gift of Dr. Donald Curtis and
Karen Curtis. The forward in the book by Rev. Catherine Ponder states:
"As we look back, we can take pride that the writings
and persona of Dr. Ernest Holmes put him in the
forefront of the inspired spiritual leaders of the 20th
century".
